E: Media Internship
Instead of classes, I need to dedicate 120 hours working for a media institution. In addition to count some them for the Norwegian consumers’ travel page DinSide, where I have a free-lance deal anyway, I will write a bit for www.footyzone.com.au. This is a brand new AFL football site run by the X-men; an association for the retired players in Australia. The page had its launch today, and I was there with most of the other internship students, the makers and a bunch of former football hot shots – of whom I knew none. I still got a picture and the autograph of Ron Baressi, a major AFL legend, just to tease AFL-interested friends. Never having watched a single football game, my stories will be on topics such as “what is AFL really about?” and “my first AFL game". The creator of the site has made like 1500 web pages for different firms, and owns/run more than 10 himself. His name is John and he has braces. John is 18 years old and by his partners referred to as the Whiz kid for his computer expertise.I might get a third placement location, but this is still uncertain. I won’t be doing more than 120 hours total still. By the way; for internship placement in Australia, you do not get paid.
