E: Back down under
Friday my globe circle was complete. In 95 days I have been through nine different countries, flown over 20 times, and met loads of wonderul human beings. But getting back to Melbourne was nothing but wonderful. There is a quota to how many impressions you can perceive before you need to get somewhere familiar to unwind. I felt great clearing customs to pick up my luggage for the last time in a while. After all this time away, it was just about right to arrive at a city where I didn't have to figure out where to live, what to do, who to see and so on. To come to a city where you feel home. After chucking my stuff into my room, I headed straight for the Focus (International Christian Students) meeting where I met a lot of old oz friends, and eventually winded up at James Punton's place (as my stuff was still stored with marvellous Rachel & Russell Smith). Saturday was spent buying groceries for over 100 oz dollars (!), buying a pair of pants I didn't really need (but got cheap 'cause they had a rift) and eventually unpacking.
At night I was reunited with the whole (former) Chisholm bunch, at Flavia and Belle's place. It was super. We went out to some new RnB/hip hop place and came home sometime close to 4am.
Yesterday I joined a free bbq at the Eagle Bar at the uni. After watching a movie with some friends, I headed for church for more reunions and spiritual well-being.
Today I started school again. It feels all right, but my mind is still on all other things than academics. There is so much to do and experience outside of school.
