E: World Power Play - Bush re-elected?
With a minor part of the ballots left to be counted, it looks like George W. Bush is going to be re-elected for the world's most powerful position. If he does, I sincerely wish him good luck and all the best. Fox News is already certain (One vote away). CNN and BBC still leaves probability a chance. Not having paid too much attention to international (nor domestic really) news lately, I do not have the greatest say in who I think should be declared the winner. My political profile doesn’t fit any of the two major parties from the ‘home of the brave’ anyways. Regardless of what Kerry stands for, however, I wonder how much forgiveness the American people possesses or should possess. Time and time again, especially in the foreign affairs, the Bush administration has told something else but the truth. Democracy, honesty and openness go together. But who can charge the world’s only (remaining) super power for it? Itself. Yet, a much patriotic majority is obviously keener on giving Bush a (four-year) second chance.
In Norway, the soccer coach of Rosenborg was recently fired for (very likely) failing to reach the Champions League. Winning the national state league was not good enough.
I rest my case.
